I watched the first half of SE01 recently, went 'wow' and then speed ran all three books in a week, and the three short stories too
No spoilers, and I haven't watched the last four latest episodes of SE02 but I suspect they'll streamline the hell out of book 2 (Shift). Which would be a shame as it's a gripping book. Perhaps the best.

I’m guessing they aren’t going to do the alternative back and forth between the near future and the silos that Shift does.
And then there’s the question of the reveals. You have to reveal what the big bad is before you reveal WHY. The glimpse at the end of S2 looks like it could portray Paul Thurman in a much more … I hesitate to say sympathetic light, but maybe an understandable one? Perhaps we’ll agree with him that something drastic had to be done to save humanity.
But, you know, there’s drastic and then there’s murdering everyone except half a million people who you decide to imprison in a bunch of deep holes for centuries.

in reply to Sarah Brown • • •I think there's potential to explore the pre-history, world geopolitical environment, and lead up (the 'why') as it's own series even. Which is kind of what a couple of the short stories started to do I think. The potential is huge
Shift, as the book was written, feels unfilmable in it's entirety given it's density and complexity ... so I'm also fascinated on how they'll manage to realise a dramatization!
