Played Chants of Sennaar at the weekend and I think it's one of my favourite games of the year so far. Gameplay is like Duolingo meets Obra Dinn where you have to learn whole-ass languages from context clues to progress through a Tower of Babel story. When things click into place, you feel like a certified brain-genius. Ace stuff! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1931770/Chants_of_Sennaar/

ooh, this sounds like my sort of thing. There's a text-based game called the Gostak which has what sounds like a similar premise, and is fantastic

@xanna “This is the delcot of tondam, where gitches frike and duscats glake. Across from a tophthed curple, a gomway deaves to kiloff and kirf, gombing a samilen to its hoff.” - big flashbacks to reading Joyce in college right there.

srsly though, this looks amazing, thanks for the recommendation!

@WOMUMP @xanna This is a very strange experience. I think I’ve got (some) movement sorted. And I think that some phrasal verbs use different prepositions to their presumed equivalents in English.
