Twitter is officially dying. How’s it going over here?
in reply to Miriam

Can't die in the mainstream if you were never born to it.

there's still like, a ton of cats and astrophotography on my feed so, catstellacular? Nebucatastic? Astrocatical?
in reply to Miriam

Just realized I haven't seen you in a while. It's funny how that happens — someone vanishes but you don't notice.

It's going pretty well here. I've only seen one MAGA account that appeared, trying to cause trouble. My feed is full of interesting people saying interesting things.

in reply to Bodhipaksa

@bodhipaksa yeah I’ve been hanging out over on bluesky I haven’t been around in a while. That’s good to hear although I don’t think they’d have much luck here anyways
in reply to Miriam

If you decide to stick with Bluesky will you follow @ap.brid.gy so we can still follow you from here?
in reply to csh

@cshlan I’m confuuused so I followed it. Does it bridge both my accounts?
@csh
in reply to Miriam

No, it doesn't link them. But it lets people on Mastodon follow your Bluesky account. You could follow your Bluesky account from this account. Add @bsky.brid.gy after @ your account.bsky.social if that makes sense, and search from your Mastodon app. You may also have to follow @bsky.brid.gy from this account. You should also be able to follow Mastodon accounts that are linked from Bluesky, I think. It's a bit cludgy but nice to see cross over, I think.

It is at once a pit of despair and a glowing beacon of community in the darkness. About what you expected?
in reply to Miriam

not so bad, in my book. I hope you like it well enough to stick around. Welcome!
in reply to Miriam

Sadly I think Twitter will be around for years to come.
in reply to Miriam

it’s okay. It’s the internet so it’s still kinda racist sometimes, but there’s no capitalists or CEOs trying to monetize the racism so it’s probably an easier place to work on fixing it.
I maintain that calling a post a ‘toot’ will always turn some people away, so getting tons of folks on here will be hard.
Buutttttt every weekend my feed is pretty much just people posting their pets or nature photos, so it’s still a more pleasant place than any other social media I’ve tried.

From my perspective, great. For a twitter personality with 100k followers, I suspect that it’s a snooze fest.
