@RevK :verified_r: @Christopher Biggs It's a bad joke. In the preprocessor language M4, DNL is "discard until newline", i.e. a comment.

@revk there is a venerable and primitive programming language called m4 which is (many would say alas) still in use. One of its weird quirks is that it uses “dnl” as its comment syntax “delete through new line”.
