Randomly listening to Muse, and their weird conspiracy thing about how the "powers that be" want your "compliance".

And I find myself wondering, "comply with what?"

And honestly, the only thing I can think of is "paying taxes".

I'm in the UK as well, and all our infrastructure is being screwed over by short-term decisions.

When i use the phrase "Hydraulic Despotism", it's meant as describing a system of control that is used to shape the range of possible futures that can potentially exist.

A good example:

It's about slaves being taught to internalise the whips, so the whips are always there inside their heads.
in reply to Sarah Brown

The whips inside the head make the victims obey all kinds of stupid orders.

Paying taxes isn't stupid, as long as you have the control of how those taxes are spent.

"No taxation without representation."

You're the one currently making space inside your head for my ideas... 😁
in reply to Billy Smith

@Billy Smith I honestly have no clue what your ideas are, other than nationalising the water to make you pay taxes and not letting you buy a solar panel, or something.
in reply to Sarah Brown

@Billy Smith Has someone told you that you can’t have a solar panel? Would you like me to beat them up?

“Join the Resistance!”

“Resisting what, Matthew?”

“Napster! New album out tomorrow, only £18!”

Muse: "Show me mercy, from the powers that be! Show me mercy! Someone rescue me!"

Me: "What powers that be, Muse?"

Muse: "The ... powers"

Me: "WHICH ONES MOTHERFUCKERS?"

Muse: *mumble*

Me: "What?"

Muse: *slightly louder mumble*

Me: "USE YOUR FUCKING WORDS"

Muse: "His majesty's revenue and customs, OK? Happy now?"

I’m more worried about the rich. Bands getting rich always turns the same way. Not that I ever enjoyed muse much, but I’ve seen other bands I’ve enjoyed go to the same way.

Corporate greed is good, is a shit genre.
