WORM! Now there's a thing I haven't thought about in a long, long time. Fun 😁

@alex WORM discs are sector-based, so you can write a few sectors and then later write more. The switch just tells the laser not to run at write-intensity

excuse me? I was pretty fond of my big iomega 44MB disks and now you tell me this exists?

🎶they call me Doctor Worm/I'm not a real doctor but I am a real wooooooooorm!🎶

oh slick. do you have a working drive for it?
i've got a sony MO 5 1/4" scsi drive, but i haven't tried using it in decades.
in reply to vga256

@vga256 nah. Drives for these big WORM drives are basically impossible to find. They were only used by big companies in the datacenter and they tossed them out long ago

my cognitive processing told me you were showing this on a train and I thought why would you take a giant disc on a train to take a photograph of it?

Where did you get such a small 3.5" floppy and a toddler to hold that perfectly normal MOD?
