There are worse places to go for an afternoon stroll. Just over a kilometre from my apartment.

Looking down on awn Algarve beach, surrounded by sandstone cliffs with a blue sky and conical sandstone sea stacks dotted here and there in the blue ocean, cliffs and stacks topped by greenery.

The layers in those rocks are gorgeous. Millions of years of history on display in one view.
