Had to book an AirBNB with a microwave in France because searching for a restaurant that can cater to coeliacs in Brittany resulted in “these guys can do salad without toast.”
my wife is gluten intolerant, and attempting to feed her (southern UK) when out and about is such a gamble. Sometimes there's just nothing available. I have a stock of GF pot noodle type things in the van with equipment to boil water, just to be sure I can feed her in a pinch. But "group of friends just nipping out to lunch together" isn't a thing we can generally do.
@zoe things were better for a bit when GF was a trendy diet, but it's veganism's turn now! Which would be nice for me (a vegetarian) except it's all "fake meat" type vegan food, and as a LIFELONG vegetarian, that's a bit gross from my perspective 😆 my wife and I are in a dark time for easy food!
@Sarah Brown @Alaric Snell-Pym @Zoë O'Connell We felt very lucky finding a gf chippy in Glasgow. Less lucky with the entirely unsafe conference centre offerings.
@ajlanes @zoe Cinderford (near the forest of dean) has a GF chip shop! 40 mins drive from home but we make occasional pilgrimages, or stop there if we are in the area anyway!
