Teller - thought he could save the world by holding a perpetual knife to its throat.

Von Braun - wanted to build spaceships and didn’t care who got hurt (as opposed to his modern day disciple, Musk, who would quite like lots of people to get hurt, I feel).

LeMay - actually thought he could win World War III.
