Been vaguely aware of the latest Fedi drama. Been trying to ignore it, but it seems to have ended up at “trans people need to stop being so sensitive to people randomly assuming they’re disgusting perverts who the rest of society needs shielding from, it was a MISTAKE you guys”.

I am so very tired of hearing that it’s a “bug”, every single time this happens.

in reply to Sarah Brown • • •The "bug" in this case is a major conceptual flaw in the design, which basically was to create a stupid-simple CENTRALIZED blocklist aggregation tool that had no facility for documentation, review, appeal, auditing, moderation, etc. Basically "minimum viable product" [MVP] applied to a case where applying MVP methodology was guaranteed to cause harm.
