To be fair, the Netherlands actually does appear to have one (1) of those women, and she *is* being talked about. The term 'outlier' applies, as well as, in her case, quite possibly the term 'morally bankrupt charlatan'.

I was under the impression that the walkie-talkies were all bought in bulk recently, so a timer would be one option if they wanted to coordinate with the pager attack and didn't have a better trigger design available.

One Intel Analyst on TV said that the ideal time to set off such devices is when Isreal already has troops stationed at the border, ready to strike. This method would be used to disrupt communication in wartime.

But this was set off BEFORE Isreal began sending any troops to the Lebanese border, which suggested to him that the #IDF believed some of the explosives had been uncovered, and they acted before the entire plan could've been stopped.

Funny. We have the concept of "qualification", where some tech has a so-called "technology readiness level" and the higher that is, the lower the qualification efforts needed. There'll be some acceptance qualification for not-off-the-shelf components, but the latter are just checked very little in comparison. Specifically concepts and guidelines don't have to be reinvented again and again.

This is space engineering.
