I have no joke. I just like saying "sugarcane whip smut".

In 2023 I painted sugarcane whip smut, caused by the fungus Sporisorium scitamineum (synonym Ustilago scitaminea).

I’m guessing that was the voice of Donald that we just heard.

That doesn’t happen like that in the book.

Also, why does Bernard know about the 51st silo? That’s only supposed to be revealed at the end, when one of them goes to repopulate the earth.

And before the “but not everyone is dead” comments, it’s absolutely canon that the only humans alive are under Fulton County, Georgia. Howey has said so himself, and the plot makes no sense if they’re not.

So anyone on Bsky can’t help but have noticed the whole sudden Sisters of Dorley thing.

It’s just made me realise how much I profoundly miss the stuff we had around 2008 in London. That was such a time. If you were there, you’ll know.

Possibly too old for this shit. Anyway, oestrogen 🤷🏻‍♀️

After having covid in December and a horrible new year cold (family brought that one in), my immune system has taken a beating and I keep getting zits and it’s pissing me off.

Weird anxiety episode day 3. Seems to be receding somewhat. Heart pounding and adrenaline rushes keep happening a bit but maybe less severely? Got sleep in a couple of three hour batches from what I remember. Have attempted to contact a therapist to process some of this.

Sometimes we sleep, or may as well. The world of possibilities that contains and is contained by a day too much and too overwhelming to be but observed slowly through a fog. What shall I do today? Toss a coin.

Sometimes we remember, or remember feeling. To fetch from the vaults of memory is to remember afresh, and to remember afresh to feel afresh. To feel afresh is to reason afresh and it is all still true: this is still was still am still me I, feeling. But nevertheless afresh.

Sometimes we reach out. So fortunate I, who can be held without holding and still feel the warmth. Waves over waves.

Bit sad not to be able to join in the general trans Dorley Hall love-in but I read maybe 300 pages and the non-consensual and imprisonment aspects of it seem to trigger a lot of anxiety, so it's perhaps not the book for me. And that's OK.

I discovered the other day that the Scottish Baby Box, available free to everyone pregnant in Scotland, contains condoms. Bit late, you might think.

I am about as safe and secure as it’s possible for a trans woman who isn’t in deep stealth to be, and the news is fucking _terrifying_ me.

We have got to find a way to survive the coming years, emotionally as well as physically. We have to be there for each other, but also for OURSELVES.

in reply to Sarah Brown

It is frigtning. Unfortunately I’ve been through this before. I remember sitting over from lawyers talking through what to do about my partner who had been fired on the spot for being trans. Or dealing with scum in a super market who has decided to hassle me badly. I learnt quickly that you fight back. In that case security and management supported me because I was a regular who did their weekly shop there. But yes prior to the EA2010 and prior to the GRA2004 and prior to the ECHR rulings you had the SDA and “good people” and there are a lot more of them than you think. The scumbags are few just vocal!

This is an official translation of the law allowing Greenland self governance. Under it, for Greenland to become independent (to do with that independence what it may) it requires a majority in a referendum of the people of Greenland, an independence agreement with Denmark, and approval of that agreement by the Greenlandic and Danish parliaments. english.stm.dk/media/10522/gl-…

If you played Jet Set Willy on the Spectrum as a kid you’ll be aware of the notorious Attic Bug. It meant that if you entered the Attic in a game, various rooms became instakills.

Today I read an explanation of the bug: bits of non-screen memory are being written to when one of the monsters in the Attic is “drawn”.

Silo Spoilers

Ok, so we now know the point of this Quinn character who wasn’t in the books (neither was Sims. I think he’s going to be the one to do the deed Sheriff Billings did in Wool; his character arc has been building up to that for ages).

Anyway, they have Quinn being the one who worked out that they need to forget.

Which, in the books, was Troy/Donald in Shift.

Suddenly it looks like the reason they’re taking forever to get through Wool is that they aren’t going to bring Shift into the story.

Which makes me wonder how the hell they’re going to explain why they’re down there, and why 8+ billion people died.
