And then there’s the question of the reveals. You have to reveal what the big bad is before you reveal WHY. The glimpse at the end of S2 looks like it could portray Paul Thurman in a much more … I hesitate to say sympathetic light, but maybe an understandable one? Perhaps we’ll agree with him that something drastic had to be done to save humanity.
But, you know, there’s drastic and then there’s murdering everyone except half a million people who you decide to imprison in a bunch of deep holes for centuries.

At First Universalist Parish in Derby Line, Vermont we fly both the Black Lives Matter and Pride flag. Members of the trans community will typically find a welcoming space in most UU congregations. My former faith of Jehovah's Witnesses, makes no room for such individuals. They would be disfellowshipped and shunned for simply being who they are. Fortunately liberal religions exist and I'd say in this moment we will be challenged to raise to the moment to do what we can to help. Take care, -Randy
It is frigtning. Unfortunately I’ve been through this before. I remember sitting over from lawyers talking through what to do about my partner who had been fired on the spot for being trans. Or dealing with scum in a super market who has decided to hassle me badly. I learnt quickly that you fight back. In that case security and management supported me because I was a regular who did their weekly shop there. But yes prior to the EA2010 and prior to the GRA2004 and prior to the ECHR rulings you had the SDA and “good people” and there are a lot more of them than you think. The scumbags are few just vocal!
Update: After this blog post was written, we learned Meta revised its public "Hateful Conduct" policy in ways EFF finds concerning. We are analyzing these changes, which this blog post does not address.

Seems almost certain that anti-trans groups and individuals will feel more bold in the days ahead especially after Donald Trump assumes the Presidency. I am a fan of British sci fi author, Peter Hamilton.
One trope he consistently returns to in his universes is the group of humans who buggered off somewhere to try to build a post scarcity society of some kind.
And each new iteration, it feels like the seed group gets closer and closer to a transsexual polycule.
He sets his books in parts of Leicestershire and Rutland where, as an uneasy adolescent, I cycled for pleasure and peaceful hours.
Some of his stories are set there directly: some of them borrow the place names; and some of them have sly little hints that put me back in a particular lane or copse or village, with the realisation "Oh, it's *there*" which makes me smile, remembering.

@Kincaid The Max is probably now quite a decent aircraft. It has the compromised version of the LEAP because the landing gear is too short, but it does surprisingly well regardless.
But as originally produced, it was a murder plane and unfit for purpose, simply because of this stupid bit of software that made piss all difference to normal flying, but could be tricked into killing everyone on board remarkably easily.
And all to save a few-days-long differences course to add a new rating on pilots' licences. Read some notes, take a multiple choice online test. Maybe an exercise or two in the sim. Perhaps repeated at every third or fourth sim check. Would have cost the airlines a tiny fraction of their training budgets.
@katiefenn @christineburns everything else being equal if the email from Ethiopian Airlines‘ chief pilot were answered throughly, containing some actual information besides peak corporate asscovering, the second crash probably wouldn’t have happened
